December 18 Weekend Photos: Converse to the rescue

I work one night a week at a kids' recreation center, and this past Friday we were told to come super dressed up or look festive. I threw these shoes on and called it a day.*


The rest of my outfit made up for it (sort of), but I was just happy to find a way around wearing heels since I spend most of the six hours chasing around 182 12-year-olds who are hopped up on sugar.


One shoe may be slightly older than the other.


*Stole the idea from my mom, who used to come this way to the school Christmas party (also with one green sock and one red sock).

And which ones, from much more recent years, have not.


Really have not. And yes, the water should be clear, not urine-colored.



How do you even go about disposing of a snow globe? The whole idea seems a little murderous, really.

November 20 Weekend Photos: Nursery

Right now we only have one baby in our church nursery, and between the baby's family and me both being away at different times the past couple of months, it's been a while since I've had Isaac in nursery.

Last time I watched him, he looked pretty much like this. Maybe a little bigger, but still tiny and newborn-ish.


Then this Sunday afternoon I went down for my nursery turn and this kid was waiting for me.


Um, did I miss something?

October 23 Weekend Photos: Virginia

Last weekend Jen, Al, and Julia were heading to Virginia, so I tagged along. We had a great time visiting, and even got to see Jackie's house -- about 5 days before she had to move out of it!
