Jan. 23 Weekend Photos: Torrential Rain

Last weekend we had an all-day downpour, resulting in my parents' yard looking like this:

I thought getting my shoes wet would be worth it for the sake of the pictures. I've since rethought that.

I would just like to say that to get this reflection picture I had to wade barefoot in ankle-deep water that was approximately 35 degrees. Maybe 36. Before that, in an attempt to remain water-free, I did a balance-beam thing across the garden rocks, only to have one of them dislodge and nearly make me drop my camera into the murky, 4-inch depths. Never again.

Jan. 9 Weekend Photos: Undecorating (or having the best of intentions of doing so)

This past Saturday I had plans to help Mom take down Christmas decorations. Dolls, tiny, reflective balls, etc.

Instead I took a bunch of pictures and bought two bags on clearance at Old Navy. At least the house still looks festive.

Jan. 2 Weekend Photos: Awesome 80s

Late last Friday night I was having fun with Julia's toy. I had one of these when I was a kid. It was awesome.

I like to pretend that I can draw perfect shapes instead of using the stamps that were provided (yes, I used them). Also that I'm left-handed (no, I'm not).

Then Al, Missy, Jen and I tried out a new Trivial Pursuit game that Missy got for Christmas. Some of the game pieces:

Remember this little model, James?
